Your VPS (Virtual Private Server) gives you full control over your hosting environment. Whether you're running applications, hosting game servers, managing databases, or building custom projects, Shuttle Hosting provides the tools and performance you need.
This guide walks you through accessing your VPS, connecting via SSH, managing your operating system, and keeping your server secure.

Accessing Your VPS Dashboard Once your VPS is active, you can manage it from your account dashboard.
To access your VPS panel:
  1. Log in to your Shuttle Hosting account.
  2. Go to My Services.
  3. Select your VPS Hosting service.
  4. Click Open VPS Panel.
Your panel includes controls for power management, networking, backups, and monitoring.

Connecting to Your VPS (SSH) SSH gives you full command‑line access to your server.
To connect via SSH:
  1. Open your preferred SSH client (PuTTY, Terminal, etc.).
  2. Enter your VPS IP address.
  3. Log in using the username and password provided in your welcome email.
  4. Once connected, you can run commands, install software, and configure your system.
If you lose your password, you can reset it from the VPS panel.

Power Controls You can manage your VPS power state directly from the panel.
Available controls:
  • Start — Boots up your VPS
  • Stop — Safely shuts it down
  • Restart — Reboots your server
  • Force Restart — Use only if the server is unresponsive
These controls apply instantly and are safe to use.

Operating System Management Your VPS includes full OS control.
You can:
  • Reinstall your operating system
  • Switch to a different Linux distribution
  • Reset your root password
  • View system logs
Reinstalling your OS will erase all data, so always create a backup first.

Managing Backups Backups protect your data in case of errors, corruption, or accidental changes.
To manage backups:
  1. Open Backups in your VPS panel
  2. Click Create Backup to save your current system state
  3. To restore, select a backup and click Restore
We recommend creating backups before major updates or configuration changes.

Monitoring Performance Your VPS panel includes real‑time monitoring tools.
You can track:
  • CPU usage
  • RAM usage
  • Disk space
  • Network activity
If your server frequently hits resource limits, consider upgrading your plan.

Firewall & Security Keeping your VPS secure is essential.
Best practices include:
  • Changing your root password
  • Enabling a firewall (UFW, CSF, etc.)
  • Keeping your OS updated
  • Using SSH keys instead of passwords
  • Disabling unused ports
