Email hosting and DNS work together to ensure your messages send, receive, and authenticate correctly. Shuttle Hosting provides easy‑to‑use tools for creating email accounts, managing DNS records, and securing your domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
This guide walks you through everything you need to get your email online and functioning properly.

Creating an Email Account. If your hosting plan includes email, you can create new accounts directly from your control panel.
To create an email account:
  1. Log in to your Shuttle Hosting account.
  2. Go to My Services → Web Hosting → Open Control Panel.
  3. Select Email Accounts.
  4. Click Create New Email.
  5. Choose your username and password.
  6. Save your changes.
You can access your inbox through Webmail or connect it to your preferred email client (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc.).

Accessing Webmail Webmail allows you to check your email from any browser.
To access Webmail:
  • Visit the Webmail link provided in your welcome email
  • Log in using your full email address and password
If you forget your password, you can reset it from the Email Accounts section of your control panel.

DNS Records for Email DNS records determine how your email is routed and authenticated.
The most important records are:
MX Records These control where your email is delivered.
If your domain is registered with Shuttle Hosting, MX records are set automatically.
If your domain is external, update your MX records to the ones listed in your hosting panel or welcome email.

SPF Record (TXT) SPF helps prevent your emails from being marked as spam.
Example format:
v=spf1 include:yourmailserver.com ~all
Your exact SPF record will be provided in your hosting panel.

DKIM Record (TXT) DKIM adds a digital signature to your outgoing emails.
To enable DKIM:
  1. Open Email Authentication in your control panel
  2. Enable DKIM
  3. Add the provided TXT record to your DNS (if your domain is external)

DMARC Record (TXT) DMARC helps protect your domain from spoofing.
A basic DMARC record looks like:
v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:you@yourdomain.com
You can adjust the policy later for stricter protection.

Connecting Your Domain to Email Hosting If your domain is registered with Shuttle Hosting, everything is configured automatically.
If your domain is external:
  1. Update your MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records
  2. Wait for DNS propagation (up to 24 hours)
  3. Test sending and receiving email
Once DNS updates, your email will begin working normally.

Troubleshooting Email Issues If your email isn’t working, check the following:
  • Incorrect MX records
  • Missing SPF, DKIM, or DMARC
  • DNS propagation delays
  • Incorrect email password
  • Mailbox storage limits
  • Firewall or client configuration issues
